PERSON those who are not firm are easily swayed. Especially in a pandemic season like this.
Look how many people are getting along with the injection of the anti-flu vaccine. In this tropical country. Then suddenly got scared. Namely when the news broke that 36 people died in South Korea.
Allegedly, according to the news, related to the anti-flu vaccination there.
Singapore, too, is so swift to take steps: immediately stop the desire of its citizens to inject anti-flu vaccine.
This year, South Korea is promoting anti-flu vaccination. Sort of obligatory. Especially for children and the elderly. It covers about 20 percent of the population.
Also, it’s free.
The South Korean government has always been good at anticipating. So as not to be missed. Such sensitivity has also made South Korea successful in dealing with Covid-19. Until yesterday, 457 people died there. 26,000 people infected. Compare this with a population of 55 million.
Soon South Korea is entering a harsh winter. In such seasons the flu is usually rampant. It’s the same as other countries that have four seasons.
But this year’s flu season will be very different. Namely, along with the Covid-19 pandemic. Whose symptoms are similar. So there is also a new term: twindemic. A pandemic united with an epidemic.
And that shouldn’t happen in South Korea. Therefore, since October 13, anti-flu vaccination was carried out. Until yesterday, 14 million people were injected. Including 9 million children.
Flu is indeed one of the most severe annual outbreaks in a four-season country. Including in America. In South Korea, in 2019 alone, 200,000 people died. It’s the flu. There was no Covid-19 at that time.
Imagine if this winter was really twindemic. How worrying.
Therefore, anti-flu vaccination must be done.
What about the news that 36 people died?
Indeed there are those who died. The number is also correct. But after research it had nothing to do with anti-flu vaccination. “Even if there are serious side effects, it only affects 1 in 10 million people who undergo anti-flu vaccination,” said Prof. Ki Moran, head of the cancer center in South Korea, told CNN three days ago.
Prof. Ki Moran
The government there is actually quite careful. For example, when setting a date to start the vaccination. Initially the movement was planned to start on October 1. Suddenly there was a report from the field: 5 million vaccines were found stored in the common room. Not in a special cold room.
So the government decided to postpone vaccinations. After everything was sorted out, October 13 will start. Namely after repeated research.
At that time, at the end of September, the air temperature in South Korea was already getting cold .. That means it is still within safe limits for the vaccine.
But the opposition immediately linked the news of the deaths of 36 people with the storage error of 5 million vaccines. Then it immediately became a terrifying rumor.
Thankfully everything was clear: there was no direct link between anti-flu vaccination and 36 deaths. They died from other diseases.
In fact, the opposition parties there have already insisted on stopping vaccinations.
The government is resolute: go ahead.
What about in China? Who also has harsh winters? Especially in the north?
“It’s not mandatory here. I myself will not do the anti-flu vaccination,” said my friend in the city of Dalian, which is adjacent to Korea.
China is considered to be able to control Covid-19. Life in China has returned to normal.
All the Covid-19 cases that were found later, turned out to be brought by people who came from abroad.
For example, the one in early October was found in the city of Qingdao, Shandong. Which is near Korea. There, suddenly 13 people with Covid-19 were found.
Then there was immediate panic. Think Covid is epidemic again. It was thought that this was due to the excitement of the golden holiday around Independence Day. To the point that Qingdao had to be locked down for another week. Then, 9 million of its citizens were swab tested. Finished in 5 days.
All negative.
Finally it was found that the new virus entered through the shipyard. In Qingdao there are many large shipyards. Including repairing ships from abroad.
Qingdao is back to normal.
These days, new cases of Covid-19 have been found. But in a very remote area. Near the city of Kashgar – which I visited last year. It’s a Muslim area next to the Ghobi desert. It is close to the Kazakhstan border. The city is now in total lockdown.
Coincidentally, the city is surrounded by desert.
What about the Beijing people?
“I myself need to think about anti-flu vaccinations,” said my friend in Beijing. There an injection of the anti-flu vaccine costs 200 RMB. Or around Rp. 450,000. “If you don’t you ask I don’t think so,” he added.
How cold is Beijing at night already?
“Last night it was 5 degrees,” he replied.
In South Korea, many are now vaccinated independently. Especially after the news of the death. They choose to buy their own vaccines but sure rather than free but doubt.
In Indonesia too. Many have undergone this anti-flu vaccination. Plus pneumonia. At a cost of IDR 800,000. They also got excited when there was news of death in South Korea. Hopefully, reading this can calm down.
But there are also those who take advantage of the news to drop the Covid-19 vaccination. They mix up the meaning of anti-flu vaccine with the Covid-19 vaccine. Anyway, vaccines are dangerous, they said.
Luckily the anti-flu vaccine dealer. Including in a country that does not have this harsh winter.
Unfortunately no one is selling anti-injustice vaccines. (Dahlan Iskan)
