A flight turned into a ‘disgusting’ experience for this 14 year old girl. When all the passengers were asleep, he found the man sitting beside him committing an indecent act.
What made it even worse was that the man turned out to be a doctor from Massachusetts, United States of America. What’s the story like?
Quoted from the New York Post, Dr. Sudipta Mohanty (33) last May traveled by plane from Honolulu to Boston. On that trip, he was accompanied by a young woman. Meanwhile, beside him sat a 14-year-old girl with her family.
When all the passengers were asleep, the girl saw strange movements on Mohanty. He saw Mohanty’s feet moving up and down under the blanket.
Shortly thereafter, the girl found Mohanty uncovered, unzipped her pants, and continued to masturbate until she ejaculated. When Mohanty went to the restroom to clean herself, the girl immediately moved to an empty seat in another row because she was disgusted and uncomfortable with what she had just witnessed.
Arriving at the airport, the girl immediately told her family, who then reported the incident to airport officials.
Mohanty was also questioned by FBI agents, who said the doctor was “nervous and shaking” when questioned.
After the incident, Mohanty was sentenced to 90 days in prison, as well as one year of supervised release and a fine of US$ 5,000 or around Rp. 76.6 million. However, Mohanty was finally released on condition that he keeps his distance from youth under the age of 18 and a place that allows youth to gather.
Meanwhile, the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), which oversees Mohanty, said that the doctor was currently on leave and could not provide further information.
“Currently this person is on leave and not practicing at BIDMC. We cannot comment much on this personal matter,” said the hospital.
