NEW JERSEY — Shocking video shows a child hit by a pickup truck while crossing an intersection in New Jersey, and the vehicle never appeared to stop or barely slowed down, and now police are searching for the driver.

A woman pushing a baby stroller witnessed the hit-and-run incident up close and helped the child, who appeared to be in pain, but managed to escape on his own.
The video was captured by a home security camera, whose owner has his own experience recovering from a collision with a vehicle.
“I was hit by a car two years ago and I was on bed rest for a long time. This is something that catches my attention even more, that an adult does not take responsibility for something he did,” said Alex Cuervo, who said drivers They seem to think the stop sign in front of their house is a suggestion.

Cuervo said his camera was unable to capture the driver’s license plate, but police are hoping someone will see the footage and help them find the hit-and-run driver.
“I hope they are held accountable,” Cuervo said.
Police also hope to speak with the woman who witnessed the accident and helped the boy recover.
