A man allegedly stabbed both of his parents to death in their home in Brooklyn on Saturday night, whileNeighbors say the man has “mental health problems”the authorities reported.
Officers received a 911 report at 1158 45th Street in Borough Park around 5:20 p.m. They discovered the bodies of a man and a woman, both 75 years old, with numerous stab wounds all over their bodies.the officers said.
The couple was identified as Jacob y Rachel Sperberthey were transferred to the Maimónides Hospital where were declared deadaccording to the New York Police Department (NYPD).
According to reports, The son of the murdered couple barricaded himself in the house after allegedly killing his parents.
The suspect, a bald man with red scratches on his head, he had glasses and a beard, he was tied to a stretcher and taken to an ambulance while neighbors observed the scene, he reported New York Post.
The NYPD did not release the name of the subject nor did they declare his relationship with the victims, but according to police sources and Some of the residents of the place stated that the man who was taken away by the authorities was the son of the couple who had dealt with “problems in his life.”.
One of the neighbors indicated that a resident of the building had contacted Hatzolahthe Jewish volunteer emergency service, after hearing noises coming from the apartment above.
“He’s a disturbed guy. He is awkward. He is also very quiet and lonely. He has had problems in his life”said another neighbor about his son.
The man lived with his parents, whom local residents described fondly, according to ABC New York 7.
“His parents were very nice people. Calm people, with themselves,” they stated.

“We all knew that the son is strange,” Antin said.
““Sometimes I was depressed, sometimes I was high… it was a little strange.”he continued, adding that he wished the man had been sent to “some kind of facility” for mental health treatment.
No criminal charges have yet been filed. The investigation is ongoing.
