The PMU 24/7, implemented as a strategy to address the situation of the Emberá community in Bogotá, aims to strengthen the institutional response capacity through prevention and care actions.
These interventions are carried out in a respectful and organized manner, with the aim of preventing risks that may affect the integrity of people, especially children and adolescents, who are a priority for this administration.
During the weekends, the dynamics of alcohol consumption intensify, which generates aggressive attitudes on the part of some members of the community and situations that can put officials at risk, as has happened in recent days.
The objective of this administration is to provide preventive and care support. The officials, in carrying out this task, maintain a respectful presence that does not interfere with their own activities or with the cultural processes of the community. As has been reiterated in dialogue tables and official communications, attacks against officials are not permitted.
The community is called to respect and abide by this basic principle of coexistence. The District has already filed the corresponding complaints against those responsible for the attacks. We invite you to watch the statements of the District Councilor for Peace, Victims and Reconciliation, Isabelita Mercado, in the video published on the social network X:

Therefore, a call is made for action and speed so that the Victims Unit and other national entities fulfill their responsibility to guarantee the right of return and relocation of this community. Commitments to victims cannot continue to be postponed indefinitely.
