District office enables free corona rapid tests – Northern Saxony district

For the first time, the district of Northern Saxony has received 20,000 corona rapid tests for free use from the Saxon state government. So far, these have always been distributed for a specific purpose, for example to old people’s homes and care services. “We’re adding another 5,000 tests and will be offering free quick tests for everyone in the six major cities in the district,” says North Saxony’s District Administrator Kai Emanuel. “It is primarily aimed at those who need such a test for their professional practice in order to minimize the risk of infection. The campaign should therefore also help to bring the incidence value in the district back below the red line of one hundred. “

The tests will start on Saturday (06.03.21) with the support of the municipalities and several aid organizations. A quick test takes about 15 minutes. You have to bring your identity card as proof of your place of residence in northern Saxony. An appointment is not initially necessary. Should it be necessary for an orderly process, an appointment could be made in the future. The six test stations are located in the following facilities:

In addition, the district provides free quick tests to various smaller towns and communities that organize test offers with local partners. District Administrator Emanuel: “The test stations are a temporary solution until the self-tests announced by the Federal Minister of Health are available to everyone.”
