On Thursday, December 29, 2022, around 8.15 pm, a fire broke out in a garage on the street “I’m Rebacker” in Lörrach-Brombach.

A witness passing by noticed that there was a fire in the open garage of a residential building. He contracted smoke inhalation while trying to help put out the fire and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The fire was promptly put out by the firefighters, but there was material damage of at least 10,000 euros to the warehouse and to a car parked in the garage, while at present there has been no damage to the property.

The fire brigade was deployed with forces from the Brombach and Haagen-Hauingen departments and the DRK with an ambulance.

The police have opened an investigation into the cause of the fire.
