Association for food sharing founded in the district

The “Foodsharing Landkreis Ebersberg” association has now been founded at an online conference. 20 founding members want to work together to save food from being thrown into the bin in Ebersberg and then distribute it. According to Anna Sachs, one of the initiators, the association expects a considerable increase in membership in the next few weeks. Many people in Ebersberg are concerned with the topic of food waste, so the consistently positive feedback suggests that the new association was founded. One of the next goals is now to make large companies in the region aware of the initiative and to cooperate with them. With food sharing, the aim is to cover as many places in the extensive district as possible and not just limit it to individual centers. So far, the initiative has mainly been active in Ebersberg, Grafing, Glonn and Zorneding. Anna Sachs puts it this way: “We want to widen our catchment area above all after Grafing and Ebersberg”.
For future club life, she also hopes to realize so-called “Schnippeldiskos” again after the pandemic has been contained: Here the food savers come together and prepare a delicious meal from the saved food that is enjoyed together. Interested parties can find out more about saving food on the online platform foodsharing.de or apply for membership at the e-mail address [email protected]. With a sponsorship program, the experienced grocery rescuers will then take new members by the hand. In addition to an active membership, there is the option of providing financial support as a sponsoring member to cover part of the expenses such as the insurance of the association. Food sharing is basically free and should stay that way.
