District of Donau-Ries: Money from VR-Bürgerstiftung Donauwörth-Rain for nursing staff in the region

The VR-Bürgerstiftung Donauwörth-Rain also gives grants for playgrounds, concerts and building projects. A total of 19 projects in northern Swabia are being considered.

19 institutions in northern Swabia can look forward to a small cash injection from the VR Citizens’ Foundation. At a ceremony in the hall of the old brewery in Mertingen, 19 white envelopes with a total of 15,000 euros changed hands.

Friedrich Hertle, the chairman of the foundation, explained: “For the eleventh time now, with our VR Citizens’ Foundation, we are proving that we particularly want to help charitable social institutions, associations and cultural and church institutions.” The foundation has been in existence since it was founded in 2008 firmly anchored regionally and locally. With the donations, the foundation is showing solidarity with the facilities, institutions and clubs on site: “Solidarity is what holds our society together and connects it.” The two board members Michael Kruck and Alexander Lehmann from the Raiffeisen-Volksbank Donauwörth, the board colleagues of the VR-Bürgerstiftung Wolfgang Schlicker and Johann Schneider as well as numerous mayors from the municipalities were present at the ceremony. The mayor of Tapfheim, Karl Malz, thanked the community foundation on behalf of all recipients of the donation.
