In the previous week, the game Emmendingen – Bad Krozingen delivered the season record of eleven goals in a district league game. However, this did not last long, because now FC Freiburg-St. Georgen and SV Mundingen with 5:7. The home team took the lead in the fourth minute. “It didn’t look all that bad actually,” said coach Roberto Palermo. But shortly thereafter, the match took a strange turn, Mundingen turned the result to 1:3 within six minutes. “We didn’t play badly, but you could see the quality of Mundinger,” said Palermo. “Once they get going, they’re hard to stop.” Palermo switched in the second half and made three changes. “Mundingen probably thought we wanted to keep it 1:6, but anyone who knows me knows: I don’t manage a defeat,” said the coach. Thanks to four goals in the second round, the defeat was limited. “Too bad,” said Palermo. “I had to swallow, but the second half showed that we’re on the right track.” Guest coach Karsten Bickel explained: “We were too sleepy in the second half, didn’t have any physical tension and held the ball for too long. That was forgettable. I was glad that we played so well in the first half.”
