District Emmendingen, Freiburg: Planning of the high-speed cycle route R6 between Freiburg, Emmendingen and Waldkirch is funded – Member of the Green Parliament Sitzmann and Pix welcome federal funding of 570,000 euros

The Freiburg state parliament members Edith Sitzmann and Reinhold Pix (both GREENS) welcome the federal funding of 570,000 euros for the planning of the R6 high-speed cycle route between Freiburg, Emmendingen and Waldkirch. The planning approval for the 26-kilometer high-speed line should be completed in 2026.

Edith Sitzmann says: “The R6 high-speed cycle route between Freiburg and its neighboring municipalities takes another hurdle. A well-developed expressway on the commuter route motivates people to switch to bicycles. That relaxes rush hour traffic and is a contribution to climate protection. “

Reinhold Pix adds: “Freiburg as a bicycle city and the region will benefit from the project. The turnaround in traffic on site is picking up speed. A good infrastructure makes the bicycle even more attractive and takes up more space in road traffic. “
