The electoral district of the south-eastern sector of the Metropolitan region chose its six representatives for the Constitutional Convention that will draft the new Constitution.
La Florida, La Pintana, Pirque, Puente Alto, San José de Maipo are the communes that make up the district 12 and they already know the six people who will represent them in the Constitutional Convention.
The big winner was Benito Baranda, from the Independent for a New Constitution list. The social activist achieved the 12.6 percent of preferences and even dragged your list partner Juan José Martín, who reached only 0.7% of the votes, but it also benefited from gender parity.
The People’s List was the district’s other surprise and managed to elect Giovanna Grandón, who became known in social demonstrations as “Tía Píkachu”, with 5.7%.

The I Approve Dignity list managed to choose the former presidential candidate Beatriz Sánchez, who obtained 7.56% of the votes.

The Constitutional Convention must draft and approve a text proposal for a new Constitution within a maximum period of nine months, although it may be extended for three months only once.
