Distributors’ Disagreement: The Controversial Scene in Kiryatam that Divided Audiences

They agreed with that scene in the crown; Lohi and I were totally against it: on CB Mala

Director CB Malail said that a scene in the Mohanlal-starrer Kiryatam was opposed by the distributors. Cibi Malail said that the distributors who came to hear the story of the film were told that they did not agree with the hero sitting in the market to surrender, but he and Lohi were completely against it.

Cibi Malail added that he told the distributors that he had lost everything in life even if he subdues Keerikadan Jose. He was speaking in an interview to Kaumudi Movies.

‘When the distributors of Kereedam Cinema came to listen to the story, they liked the whole story. But the only objection they had was the scene where the hero went to the market and sat down ready to surrender. “He is a hero. He said, ‘Where is Keerikadan?’

Lohi and I were totally against it. That’s the problem with the movie you’re used to seeing so far. The hero of this story has come to die, he has come to lose, he is the hero who is going to lose. He is a loser in life even though he kills another person. Beating him won’t get him anywhere.

It is the problem of the survival of the hero. Keerikadan beats Jose to death but the hero fails. He crushed his father’s dreams. That is our hero. They could not help but agree with us by saying that they were not ready to make any change from that. Later they realized that our side was right,’ said Lal Jose.
