On Monday, Jorun Stiansen, ambassador for the Postcode Lottery, distributed four million kroner to the girlfriend’s parents.

ARENDAL: – This has been a crazy day. It has been completely insane. Yes, today I can use that expression again, says Jorun Stiansen to Fædrelandsvennen.
She is an ambassador for the Postcode Lottery, and on Monday she distributed 20 million kroner to winners at Rykene, which was drawn as the winning place.
Among the winners were the parents of Stiansen’s girlfriend, Egil Furre.
They won two million kroner each, ie a total of four million kroner as a result of having bought tickets in the Postcode Lottery.
It was Agderposten who first wrote about the case.
– Kept driving off the road
Last week, Stiansen was informed that 4821 Rykene in Arendal had been drawn as the winning place, and that the cohabitant’s parents were two of the winners.
– I was on my way to Sørlandssenteret for pedicures, and I was driving off the road when I got a call about this, she says.
The whole thing was kept secret, and Stiansen misled her loved ones by telling them that she was going to travel to Oslo to hand out prizes.
Instead, she appeared at the address of the couple Inger Helena (77) and Knut Furre (80) at Rykene.
– When it was I who knocked on the door, it was an extra surprise for them. They were not disappointed, chuckles Stiansen.
– She tricked us around. We thought Jorun was in Oslo working. The fact that both Knut and I should win, we who each have our share in the same household, is more than we can comprehend, comments Inger Helena Furre.
– What are you going to spend the money on?
– We have to think about it a bit. We have five beautiful grandchildren, so it must be a little difficult for them.
– Never happened before
At 7 pm on Monday, Jorun Stiansen said that she was on her way to the last winner at Rykene. At that time, the team from the Postcode Lottery had been handing out cash prizes in the town since 11 o’clock.
– The postcode lottery has existed internationally since 1989. It has never happened before that an ambassador has distributed main prizes to friends and family, according to the head office in the Netherlands, Stiansen says.
Four main winners
Norway is divided into postcodes. The postcode lottery has then itself given the addresses within the postcodes their own codes, ie postal codes, which indicate the street, road or area.
– Eight million kroner was distributed to four winners on Monday. After that, NOK 12 million was distributed to 33 other winners, explains Audun Bringsvor, communications consultant at the Postcode Lottery.
He emphasizes that the probability that the Furre couple would win main prizes was very small, as there are 3361 postcodes in Norway, which in turn are divided into postcodes.
– It was unbelievable that the huge win would land right on Rykene, Bringsvor points out.
