Moroccan craftsmanship at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
Moroccan craftsmanship shines again at the Salone del Mobile in Milan from April 16 to 21, 2024. A large delegation, led by Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, represents the Morocco for the second consecutive time at this major global design event.
For her part, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, accompanied by Tarik Sadik, Managing Director of Maison de l’Artisan, held several working meetings, notably with Pierluigi Coccini, CEO of the luxury brand La Rinascente and Alberto Cavalli , executive director of the Michel-Angelo Foundation, with which a memorandum of understanding was signed during the 7th edition of the National Craft Fair. Discussions focused on creating meaningful training opportunities for young Moroccan artisans and the desire to participate in the next edition of the Dopia Firma program, which highlights co-creations between contemporary artisans and designers.
Fatim-Zahra Ammor expressed her enthusiasm: “ The Salone del Mobile in Milan is a very selective and prestigious event, known as the world summit for design and furnishings. We are delighted to be able to highlight Moroccan craftsmanship which is also arousing great interest. Our objective through this participation is to give selected exhibitors access to renowned distributors and buyers present at the show, so that they can showcase their work and establish commercial partnerships. I strongly encourage Moroccan artisans, designers and craft businesses to engage in such events which are real catalysts for growth.. »
