More than 25,000 Belgians have already died from Covid-19. Apparently the virus does not distinguish between men and women, but if you look more closely at the figures, you can see that the virus is mainly fatal in the younger age groups. “Men do worse in hospitalizations, ICU admissions and deaths. You see that everywhere in the world,” says virologist Steven Van Gucht.
