Dissonance in Historical Accuracy: Blunder with Mini-Skirts in ‘We are from the Future’ Movie

Because of the actress, there was dissonance.

Not all modern historical films can boast of reliability. So, in the military picture “We are from the future” there is a shameful blunder that confuses many viewers.

The heroine of Ekaterina Klimova, nurse Nina, often appears in the frame in an extreme mini. This is a gross mistake of the filmmakers. The events take place during the Great Patriotic War, and such mini-skirts appeared only in the 60s. So Nina also came from the future?

This blunder outraged many viewers. According to them, Klimova dishonored the honor of Soviet women, who would never allow themselves to dress in such clothes. Besides, it would be very inconvenient.

During the war, women put on soldier’s “golyefs” and tucked them into boots. Men’s underpants also came to their aid. And in winter, Soviet girls were saved by wadded pants. If the ladies wore skirts, they were always below the knee, and no one even knew about any mini.

They were invented by the English fashion designer Mary Quant in the early 60s. The fashion for miniskirts spread at lightning speed, but it came to the USSR much later.
