Zhang·Lee Seoljeon’s plenary meeting was lame
On the 16th, at the general meeting of the Public Administration and Security Committee, Jang Je-won, a member of the people’s power, had a war of words with Rep. Lee Seong-man, who left the Democratic Party, and the meeting was disrupted.
On this day, the Public Administration and Security Commission was held to inquire about pending issues about North Korea’s hacking attacks against Park Chan-jin, secretary-general of the National Election Commission. The conflict between the two came from the process of Chairman Jang repeatedly demanding that Secretary-General Park respond to the countermeasures.
Opposition lawmakers, including the Democratic Party, criticized Chairman Jang by saying, “(Chairman) needs to see the society,” and demanded a statement. Rep. Lee continued protesting by pointing his finger at Chairman Jang. In response, Chairman Jang said to Rep. Lee, “Do you still have the strength to scream and point fingers?” Rep. Lee recently withdrew from the party due to suspicion of money envelopes at the Democratic National Convention, and he pointed out that he moved his seat from the right side where Democratic Party lawmakers sit to the left side where people’s power and independent lawmakers sit.
When the Democratic Party lawmakers continued their protest, Chairman Jang responded by saying, “Where are you talking nonsense?” and “Is the thief tripping my feet?” Chairman Jang declared a suspension, and the afternoon meeting was held alone by the ruling party as the Democratic Party’s Public Security Committee members boycotted, saying, “Chairman Chang apologizes.”
Regarding North Korea’s hacking attempts, Secretary-General Park, who appeared at the Security and Public Administration and Security Committee that day, said, “We have not been aware of North Korea’s cyber attacks on our own or have not been notified of cyber attacks from external organizations.” If necessary, we will review ways to receive technical support from intelligence agencies in accordance with the Information and Communication Infrastructure Protection Act.” Regarding the security consulting of the National Intelligence Service, “reviewed… ” he replied.
When Rep. Cho Eun-hee of People’s Power asked, “Isn’t hiring a father’s chance?” Secretary-General Park replied, “No,” and “If you have to take legal responsibility because it’s a ‘dad chance,’ then of course you take responsibility.”
