For Ali Boualam, train driver and regional delegate of the Force Ouvrière union in Marseille, the SNCF is at fault: “we are on the fourth day of the strike with rates of strikers varying between 90 and 100% of TER drivers in Marseille, Avignon, Miramas and Veynes“. He explains : “the SNCF has 15 days between the filing of a notice and the moment when we go on strike to turn around. She had plenty of time to be able to come back to us with decent proposals and this is absolutely not the case.“
We are asking for an increase in salaries in view of the current purchasing power and after 8 years of salary freezes at the SNCF. We would also like an improvement in working conditions which goes through the agreements we have made and which the SCNF does not respect. There are still lines on which drivers are not accompanied by controllers.

This union representative specifies that without controllers on certain trains where they are planned, the drivers find themselves alone in the face of “passenger safety.
