Display problem: Apple starts free repair program for iPad Air

Because of display problem: Apple starts free repair program for iPad Air

Apple’s iPad Air has a display issue with some devices. Anyone struggling with a blank screen on devices from last year can now hope for free repair.

Apparently there is a technical problem with the iPad Air: According to Apple, with a «limited number of devices», you have problems with a permanently blank screen. This is how Apple describes the problem on its website.

However, only third-generation iPad Airs manufactured between March and October 2019 are affected. Anyone who is struggling with a problem with their own iPad can now claim a free repair.

Other damage may need to be repaired beforehand

As always with these programs, this only applies if the device does not show any other damage that affects or prevents repairs. If you want to have an iPad with a cracked display repaired cheaply in this way, you are out of luck. Apple advises that such damage must be repaired before you can use the free repair program.

The repair can be carried out by an authorized dealer or in an Apple store – if you don’t have both nearby, you can also send your device. All further information on the repair program can be found on the Apple website .

The iPad Air (third generation) was launched in March 2019 and, with a price starting at CHF 579, is now the mid-range device between entry-level iPad (starting at CHF 379) and iPad Pro (starting at CHF 898.35). It is faster than the simplest device and offers a better, slightly larger screen.
