Disney’s Snow White Live-Action Remake: Release Date Delayed to March 2025, First Official Photo Revealed

Those who were looking forward to Disney’s next live-action remake, Snow White, will unfortunately have to wait a little longer. The film was initially scheduled to be released in March 2024, but has now been postponed by a full year, to March 2025.

Fortunately, this news coincides with a small gift for fans: Disney has unveiled a first photo of the film. The photo shows actress Rachel Zegler in the lead role of Snow White, surrounded by the seven dwarfs – Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy and Doc – in their house. Fans of the original will recognize the iconic outfit that Zegler is dressed in.

Controversial
This news comes after a series of negative media reports about the film and its stars. For example, Rachel Zegler recently came under fire when she demanded to be compensated for every hour that the film would ultimately be streamed online.

There was also a lot of fuss about released set photos that seemed to hint that the Seven Dwarves had completely changed. However, this first official photo now seems to debunk that.

Cast & crew
Rachel Zegler isn’t the only big star in Snow White will play. The Evil Queen will be played by Gal Gadot, known for, among others Wonder Woman a de Netflix thriller Heart of Stone. Filmmaker Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) will direct, and the film will feature original songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman).

Snow White will therefore no longer be released in March 2024. The new release date is scheduled for March 21, 2025.
