In five months, it will have welcomed its first customers. Closed for a year for a major renovation on the Marvel theme, one of the three universes of the Disneyland Paris extension, the New York hotel is in the midst of a recruitment phase.

During the Amusement Park Trades Days – 8,000 positions including 1,000 permanent contracts are offered again this year – this Friday and Saturday under the dome of the Disney Village, a stand is entirely dedicated to the four-star establishment which will reopen on June 15 with 561 refurbished rooms and will employ nearly 500 employees.

If no interview takes place at the Trades Days and if the CVs are not accepted by the employees present, many visitors came this Friday to inquire about hiring opportunities. Currently, 482 offers are open for the New York hotel alone for jobs such as diver, bartender, service employee, catering host, demi-chef de partie or de rang, chef de cuisine, lifeguard, waiter or clerk. of the kitchen…

“The first quality is know-how”

“Above all, we are looking for lifeguards for the hotel pool and for the catering industry. We ask for adequate diplomas but the first quality is interpersonal skills. You have to want to be in front of customers and interact with them. If someone hasn’t done any training, we can support them, ”promises Corinne Maillot, training and customer relations manager.

“We started recruiting a week ago. For the kitchens alone, we are looking for around sixty people. It takes a lot of skills and being motivated because there are high expectations, ”says Ludovic Mallac, chef at Walt’s restaurant and future manager of the New York hotel convention center.

With up to 2,000 seats per day, the latter will be one of the strongholds of the establishment, while the hotel’s two restaurants, Manhattan and Downtown, will serve up to 250 and 400 seats respectively. “For four months, I took all the Marvel films in order so that I could tell the stories with our dishes,” he smiles.

Different candidate profiles

Cloé and Camille will not apply in the kitchen. The two 18-year-old women came to learn about management and hospitality jobs. “I am a language student and it could be interesting to work here. For the moment, I have made no choice. I take information everywhere, ”admits Cloé.

Camille spoke at length with the employees of Euro Disney: “I am in the first year of psychology but why not turn to the hotel industry. My father already works at Disneyland Paris. It makes me want to apply. “
