Disney World Sets the Stage
In the forthcoming year of 2025, Walt Disney World plans to increase the price of their cheapest one-day, one-park ticket. The current $109 ticket will be raised to $119, marking the first change to the lowest-priced ticket since 2018, according to sources.
Disneyland at a Crossroad
Considering Disney World’s decision, it is natural to wonder if Disneyland will follow a similar path. Should Disneyland embrace a comparable 9% price increase, their current $104 lowest-priced ticket would be adjusted to $114 in the near future. However, Disneyland officials have currently not announced any changes to their ticket prices.
Consistent Price Strategy
Disneyland, like its East Coast counterparts, has maintained the cost of their cheapest tickets at $104 since 2019. Instead of increasing the price of the lowest-priced tickets, Disneyland has been progressively raising the prices of higher-tiered tickets each year. In the previous year, ticket prices soared to $194 for the highest-cost ticket, while the cost of the cheapest daily ticket remained at $104 for a single park.
Disneyland’s Pricing History
The price of Disneyland’s cheapest tickets has remained relatively stable for the past decade, fluctuating around $100. While the admission fee for Disneyland or Disney California Adventure started at $92 in 2013, it has gradually increased over the years. In 2016, Disneyland introduced a three-tiered pricing system, which broke the $100 barrier. Prices were set at $95, $105, and $119, to correspond with anticipated crowd sizes. Since then, ticket prices have continued to rise, with expensive ticket options becoming even pricier.
The Differences between Disney Parks
It is important to note that Disneyland and Disney World often develop and implement varying strategies. Operations at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort diverge because of differences in the guest experience and preferences. Additionally, the unique offerings at each destination contribute to the differences in ticket pricing.
