The two released Marvel films about Deadpool were certainly not gentle. The character Wade Wilson scolds and there is a lot of (bloody) violence to be seen. Deadpool recently came into the hands of Disney. Fans are worried that the character will now be a lot more kid-friendly.
A while ago it became clear that Deadpool will become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although it is still completely unclear how. There is a good chance that the Multiverse will play a role in this, but then we still have the problem that Marvel Studios – at the moment – does not make R-rated (16 years and older) films.
Deadpool could be more kid-friendly
Director Tim Miller who was responsible for the very successful Deadpool from 2016 now says that a PG-13 rating (12 years and older) should not be a problem. He does have a condition.
“I think Ryan Reynolds’ take on the character and the way he interprets that madness – even if he doesn’t use four letter words – should not be missed. He is still that character,” Miller told Inverse. “You can take the R-rated parts out if you want and it would still be Deadpool if only Ryan did it.”
Deadpool 3 with undoubtedly Ryan Reynolds gets a script by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin (Bob’s Burgers) and is unlikely to appear until 2023 or 2024.
