Disney+ starts a new round of price increases in the USA – SHOCK2

Walt Disney shares are under a lot of pressure following the publication of the quarterly figures. Although the company has recently celebrated some notable successes in the cinema, the results with Disney+ overshadow the quarterly figures. It is therefore not surprising that Disney+ will raise prices again. After the costs for many European customers were raised in November 2023, it is now affecting US subscribers. From mid-October, they too will have to dig deeper into their pockets for the popular streaming content.

What changes for US customers?

  • Disney+ with advertising: The price increases from $7.99 to $9.99 per month.
  • Disney+ without advertising: There is also an increase here. Both the monthly and annual fees will increase by $2 each.

Please note that the popular HULU/STAR content in the USA is NOT available in Disney+, but in a separate streaming service!

Disney usually justifies the price increases with rising production costs and investments in new content. The streaming services also want to increase their profits and compete better with other providers.

In Germany, the prices for Disney+ were already adjusted last year. Since then, the standard tariff has cost 8.99 euros per month and the premium tariff 11.99 euros per month. But the next price increase is now just around the corner. In Austria, the price for a Disney+ subscription is currently 10.99 euros per month or 109.90 euros per year.
