The Angels – With an emotional mirror selfie, US actress Dove Cameron (26) spoke openly about her depression and dealt with her own identity.

“I’ve been feeling wrong lately in the clothes that used to make me beautiful. I’ve cried a lot as I’m terrorized by my identity and image,” the young actress wrote on Instagram.
Dove Cameron was best known to a larger audience through the Disney TV movie “Descendants”.
But now the young woman seems to be going through an extremely difficult time. Commenting on her pictures, in which she is seen crying and with a red face, she explained that she seems to be in a clear conflict between her own self and her self, which is only perceived from the outside.

“Sexuality and performative gender norms, societal rewards and identity really upset me,” says Cameron. The actress identifies as queer.
“What I want to say is that I’m in the process, investigating and trying to maintain a calm non-judgmental curiosity,” the 26-year-old wrote. Constantly broadcasting yourself and everyone else all over the web leads to modern day problems and isn’t good for mental health, the Disney star explained.

“Most of the time I’m not attracted to any identity at all, I feel most naturally as something that’s imperceptible to myself, an energy and a presence,” revealed Cameron. “I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to live like this, if I’ll ever find a rhythm in this job where perception is one of the most important cornerstones.”
At the same time, the young woman confirmed that she would no longer let her image be determined from outside and to fight her depression: “We all deserve a life that is not burdened by the socially created identity, we all deserve to unlearn self-abuse and self-hatred. I’m on this journey now and sharing it with you.”
Encouraging her followers, the 26-year-old said: “There is space for us to talk about the things that scare us and cannot be commercialized on a large scale.” She hopes that people will be able to use social networks to support each other in the future.
