Disney + reveals all the platforms on which the service will be available

The arrival of Disney + in France is approaching and the SVOD service has formalized on which platforms it will be available. The list is long.

Disney will launch its platform on March 24 in France. If Canal + will be the exclusive distributor, it will of course be available in OTT on many platforms as revealed by the official Disney + accounts on social networks.

Connected TVs, game consoles, mobile apps… Disney will be everywhere….

Disney has indeed revealed all the platforms on which we can find an application to access its SVOD service. It rakes wide enough to reach the maximum number of users. Thus, the service will be available on Android TV and Apple TV, of course, but also on LG and Samsung connected televisions and on dongle-type devices such as Chromecasts and Fire TV Sticks or Rokuten boxes.

Gamers can also use their console to access Disney +, the application will indeed be available on Xbox One and Playstation 4, nothing for the Nintendo Switch, however. Regarding the latter manufacturer, the absence of the service is not really a surprise, the console does not offer Netflix either. There will of course be mobile apps on iOS and Android.

… Except on operator boxes

However, finding the service on Livebox, Freebox or other, you will have to be patient. Canal + is indeed the exclusive distributor of the service in France and has, according to information from Electron Libre, difficulties to sell Disney + to operators. If discussions are still underway, it is unlikely that the service will be available from operators when it launches on March 24.

And for box users running Android TV, like the Freebox mini 4K or the Bbox Miami, there is no guarantee that the application will be accessible directly. We know for example that for the moment Amazon Prime Video is not accessible on Freebox mini 4K, and it is possible that Disney + is not either. If this is the case, you may have to go through alternative means, such as installing an APK to use it on the Freebox.

As a reminder, the service will be offered at 6.99 € / month or included in some Canal offers, and Disney will offer a free trial week at the launch on March 24.
