Starting on May 20 at Walt Disney World and on June 18 at Disneyland, the changes to the disability access program will restrict access to individuals with a developmental disability like autism, limiting their ability to wait in the conventional queue for an extended period. The new guidelines state that the service will be available to the individual needing it and their immediate family members only, or a maximum of four people if not immediate family. The program, as it currently stands, accommodates a party of six.

To allow specific individuals to maintain frequent restroom access, a “return to queue” process is being implemented, although details have not been fully disclosed.
