The series picks up on Kamala Khan, a character who was introduced in the Marvel comics in 2013. She became Marvel’s first Muslim superhero named Ms. marvel. Nine years later, she steps out of the shadow of Captain Marvel in a new series from Marvel Studios.
The lead role went to newcomer Iman Vellani, who was found after a long casting process. The images in the trailer already show the flair for humor and the quick editing of El Arbi and Fallah, with inventive interventions in animation. The series will also explore the Islamic background of Ms. Treat Marvel.

For the Belgian filmmakers, it is their second and largest series to date in the US, after two episodes of the series. Snowfall† This time again, they only directed two episodes, but they also took charge of directing the entire series, which was written by British Bisha K. Ali.
After the shooting before Ms. Marvel El Arbi and Fallah stayed with the superheroes for a while, albeit this time from Marvel’s opposite, DC Comics. For Hollywood studio Warner Bros. Pictures they took Batgirl starring Leslie Grace and supporting JK Simmons, Brendan Fraser and Michael Keaton. However, that film will not appear in cinemas, but will be released on streaming platform HBO Max, which does not yet exist separately in Belgium.
El Arbi and Fallah got a chance in Hollywood after the success of their films Black on Patser† They directed Bad boys for life, with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. It became the biggest Hollywood hit of 2020. In the meantime, they returned to Belgium for the recording of Ground, which they directed with Mathieu Mortelmans.
