Disney Illusion Island has been named game of the year at the TIGA Awards.

It’s that time of year when organizations all over the world start hosting awards ceremonies to document and highlight the best video games of the year. While many eyes are on The Game Awards in December, the TIGA Awards have recently been held in the UK, meaning we now know who has been awarded the coveted Game of the Year award by this British industry body.

Surprisingly, Dlala Studios’ Disney Illusion Island took home the GOTY award this year, as well as winning the award for best social game, and Dlala was named best small studio.

A number of other games and projects have been honored, including Desta: The Memories Between for Diversity Award, God of War: Ragnarök for Best Audio Design, PowerWash Simulator for Best Casual Game, Rebellion for Best Publisher, Birmingham City University for Best Education Initiative , Sumo Digital for Best Large Studio, and even Playground Games’ HR Director Geraldine Cross received the award for Outstanding Individual of the Year.
