When Bob Chapek, the big boss of Disney, is asked for a response, he initially keeps the boat off. Disney has many interests in Florida. Thanks to a special law (dated in 1967), the Disney World theme park (near Orlando) can make its own decisions about spatial planning, investments, safety, and so on. Disney also gave financial support to politicians who passed the law. Chapek refuses to harshly condemn the law. “The biggest impact we can have is through the content we bring,” he says. And it is precisely that statement that goes wrong with his staff.
