D23 2024 had some trailers and announcements to offer that will make Disney fans’ hearts beat faster! These are the 7 most important highlights!

This weekend, the ultimate Disney fan event took place with D23 2024. Disney fans were offered a spectacular range of products from all Disney brands throughout the weekend. The presentations with exclusive announcements and trailers were particularly impressive for viewers. A whole range of new projects were presented.

Among the announcements were long-awaited German trailers for movies like “Vaiana 2” or the prequel live-action film “Mufasa: The Lion King.” But fans of the “Star Wars” universe also got their money’s worth with announcements from “Skeleton Crew.” We’ll tell you the 7 most important announcements from D23.

At this year’s D23, viewers were able to enjoy the first German trailer for “Moana 2”. After the daughter of the tribal chief survived her adventures with the demigod Maui on the island of Motonui in Polynesia, they embark on another dangerous adventure. This time they receive support from a group of sailors with whom they climb the seas of Oceania.

“Moana” fans had to wait eight years for a second part. Although the sequel was only recently announced in February 2024, viewers can already look forward to a cinema release on November 28, 2024.

Mufasa: The Lion King (December 19, 2024)

After the great success of the live-action adaptation of “The Lion King,” fans have now received the long-awaited trailer for the live-action prequel “Mufasa: The Lion King.” In the story, Rafiki tells Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala, the legend of her grandfather Mufasa.

Mufasa was an orphaned cub who was lost and alone until he met the friendly lion Taka. Together, the extraordinary group of outsiders set out to find their destiny.

The prequel to the mega-hit “The Lion King” will be released in German cinemas on December 19, 2024. Like its predecessor, the new feature film by Oscar winner Barry Jenkins combines live-action film techniques with photorealistic, computer-generated images.

Snow White (March 20, 2025)

The Disney universe is being expanded to include another classic fairy tale with the live-action film adaptation of “Snow White”. The musical based on the 1937 film classic tells the story of the beautiful Snow White, who finds refuge with the seven dwarves while fleeing from her evil stepmother.

With Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”) in the title role and Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman”) as her stepmother, viewers will also see the beloved seven dwarves: Boss, Grumpy, Sleepy, Hatchee, Pimpel, Happy and Sippel. The German cinema release is scheduled for March 20, 2025.

The spin-off “Agatha All Along” belongs to the “WandaVision” universe and will be a miniseries for Disney+. Kathryn Hahn (“WandaVision”) and Joe Locke (“Heartstopper”) will take on the main roles. “Agatha All Along” will launch on Disney+ with the first two episodes on September 19, 2024. The other seven episodes will be released weekly until November 6.

The coming-of-age series “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” stars Jude Law (“The Holiday”), Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter and Robert Timothy Smith, among others.
