On August 18, the cruise ship ‘Disney Dream’ docks in the port of Zeebrugge. The 340 meter long ship is owned by The Walt Disney Company, the 4,000 passengers are immersed in the magical world of Disney.
Last year, Zeebrugge welcomed the Disney Magic, now the Disney Cruise Line shipping company is coming to our port with an even larger ship. The Disney Dream left Barcelona on July 15 and has already visited Southampton, Copenhagen, Oslo and Amsterdam. From mid-September the ship departs for New York, during the winter it does cruises in the Caribbean.
Enchanting
According to the well-informed website www.cruiseseschepeninzeebrugge.be The Disney Dream is an enchanting cruise ship that has much to offer all ages: “With its striking Disney theme and creative details, every passenger is immersed in the magical world of Disney. The ship offers numerous attractions, such as a 233-foot waterslide spanning four decks, a beautiful theater with Broadway shows and an exclusive Disney Club for children.
The Disney Dream was manufactured in Germany in 2010 at Meyer Werft and was launched on January 28, 2011. The ship has two extra decks compared to the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. The design has largely remained the same: a tribute to the classic ocean liners of the 1930s.
Waiters come along
A fun fact: Disney operates a rotation system for the all-inclusive package: passengers can dine in a different restaurant every day and are served by the same team of waiters throughout their stay, who go to a different restaurant every day.
The Disney Dream will call at Zeebrugge twice this year: on August 18, 2023 as a stopover in an 11-day cruise from Copenhagen to Southampton and on September 4 as the first port of call after departure from Southampton to Scandinavia. Zeebrugge can also expect the cruise ship twice next year. Last year the Disney Magic was a guest.
A visit on board is not allowed if you have not booked a cruise. The cruise ship can be admired from a distance in the port of Zeebrugge.
