The multinational company estimated the adverse impact related to Covid on the operating income of the parks and experiences segment as a result of the closures and the reduction of operational capacities at some 2,600 million dollars (1,406 million euros), while in the segment of entertainment and media the effects were less significant.

At the end of the quarter, the multinational highlighted that the Disney + platform had reached 94.9 million subscribers, compared to 73.7 million in the previous three months and well above the 26.5 million of the previous year, exceeding its Initial target for 2024, which the company updated in late 2020 to raise it to a range of between 230 and 260 million paying users.

For its part, ESPN + increased its subscribers to 12.1 million, 83% more than a year earlier, while the Hulu platform reached 39.4 million users, 25% more.
