Disney announces big premiere date changes due to screenwriters’ strike

All parties probably hoped that the screenwriters’ strike would somehow be resolved as quickly as possible and that Hollywood would be able to work as usual. At the same time, however, all parties probably suspected that it would not work out. Well, it didn’t work out, and because of that we have to rewrite the list of premieres we are looking forward to. This is because Disney intends to move, move and adjust the dates of the premieres for almost all the big projects that it is preparing. Or at least for those who do not have finished scripts, which officially no one is allowed to touch now.

We have known for some time that the premieres of the Marvel movies have been postponed Blade a Thunderbolts, where the scripts were not ready, for them it is a shift of approximately half a year. The vampire slayer will not arrive in September 2024, but until February 2025, and the Marvel baddies team-up will remain in 2024, but instead of July, we will see it on December 20. And now we have more bad news. And also longer delays.

The scripts for other Avengers parts were not ready either. Five with a subtitle Kang Dynasty was supposed to hit theaters on May 2, 2025, instead we’ll see it almost a year later on May 1, 2026. By then, the sixth installment was already slated to begin filling theaters Secret Warswhich will finally arrive on May 7, 2027. A half-year shift awaits i the third Deadpoolwhich will not last next summer, but until November 8, 2024, and Captain America: Brave New World is being moved to June 26, 2024, i.e. to the slot originally intended for Thunderbolts. She was then supposed to introduce herself at the beginning of 2025 Fantastic Fourbut it is moving from the February slot to May.

No a Avatar? We are used to waiting with him, but we don’t like to see those shifts here. The third installment, originally planned for next year’s Christmas, will finally arrive on December 19, 2025, which will also push its sequel. And it won’t be here in a year. Christmas slots remain, of course Avatar 4 will not appear in 2026, but only in 2029 and five even as late as 2031.

A little shorter moves await Star Wars. A movie we know absolutely nothing about is being moved from December 2025 to May 2026, and Disney just casually announced another Star Wars and for December 2026. The only one who can rest easy is Dwayne Johnson, whose acting Brave Moana is being moved by just one week from June 27 to July 2, 2025. Well, we’re not happy about that.
