A few weeks after announcing the end of fast-passes at Disneyland Paris, the big-eared firm presents its new Genie + application, to navigate the queues of American parks.
In Marne-la-Vallée, the “Fast Pass” have bowed out. These free skip-the-lines, which significantly reduced the waiting time at each attraction, have been abandoned in favor of a new paid offer. Baptized “Disney Premier Access”, it allows direct access to an attraction, against 8 to 15 euros per merry-go-round. Among the eligible attractions are the most popular infrastructures such as Big Thunder Mountain, Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy and The Twilight Zone of Terror. But now, while the news is already struggling to get through to visitors from France, this new offer is about to be applied across the Atlantic.
On its blog, DisneyParks unveils its new service. Called Genie, she is presented as “A new free and convenient digital service designed to enhance your day at Disney.” It will be directly integrated into the My Disney Experience and Disneyland applications and will allow you to plan your day to make the most of every second. As in Paris, visitors will also be able to join virtual queues, and thus take this opportunity to go to an attraction less frequented.
$ 15 to $ 20 per person
However, in the United States, it will no longer be a question of relying on Fast-passes to gain precious minutes. Instead, Disneyland unveils Genie+, a paid version of the service which allows access to reduced queues. However, these privileged accesses have a price, between 15 and 20 dollars per day and per visitor. It’s a small budget, but it’s still well below the prices offered in France. Note, however, that tickets are much more expensive in the United States since it takes about 110 dollars for a single park.
