Minister Stoycho Katsarov is responsible for the two-week delay in the return of the big students to class. This was said on the air of the “Live Day” on Nova News by the former Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Dimitar Petrov.
“I did not order the tests, this is not my responsibility. I asked why the tests were so expensive, that was the cover for my dismissal. I do not deal with these tests, but neither do the people who are responsible for this through the relevant directorates and Deputy Minister Zlatanov, who was isolated from the process. The tests are handled by the Minister personally and his chief of staff Lidia Chorbanova. In her office, the commission was called, dictated what to write, then charts were drawn up. Ask her why they are so expensive. They are responsible for delaying the return of upper-class students for at least two weeks due to a lack of tests and careless procedures. As well as due to the fact that contracts with some companies were terminated with a change in the conditions. A penalty of 0.5% per day was imposed for delays in documentation, then the companies received contracts with a 10% penalty and waived. I am in pain. We are committed to closing the schools as soon as possible, “he explained.
Dr. Petrov also commented on the case with the merger of Lozenets Hospital with pediatrics. According to him, no one is against the construction of a new children’s hospital, but not in this way. According to him, the merger of the three companies, as the authorities intend, poses a number of risks.
“Intentions are dressed in nice phrases, but they sound populist. The merger will lead to the capital of the new company not being earmarked for construction, but will be made available to the board of directors. There are suspicions that this is also related to the appointment of specific persons. The name of Blagomir Zdravkov, who is close to the head of the cabinet of the minister, is mentioned. The new hospital may be on a plot of land in Lozenets or elsewhere, there are vacant properties. It is good to be somewhere around the “Alexandrovska” hospital, as there are other medical institutions with which it will interact. I don’t see why companies should merge, “he explained.
Dr. Dimitar Petrov added that it is possible to have interests that act against state hospitals. “Legally, the issue is settled that the expansion of the bed capacity in some hospitals leads to the closure of those in others,” added Dr. Petrov.
