Disinherited son of Liz Hurley misses out on 210 million euros

A year after the tragic death of his father, Damian is dealt another big blow: being disinherited by his grandfather Peter must be like a slap in the face. Steve Bing left behind a lot of money as a very wealthy financier. Enough for son Damian, whom he had with Liz Hurley, and daughter Kira, who Steve had with former tennis player Lisa Bonder, to never have to work a day in their lives.

But the €210 million that Damian would receive after his father took his own life no longer goes to his bank account. That was decided by a judge after a lawsuit was filed by the Bing family.

It’s a complicated situation. Steve has never publicly acknowledged being his son since Damian was born. He does, however, have a family through his own father Peter, who is quite well off himself trust fund set up. That way, Damian – and daughter Kira too – would inherit a decent amount. Just like Peter’s other two grandchildren, the children of Steve’s sister Mary. The amount of the trust fund stands at 1 billion dollars, which in euros is more than 800,000 million.

As Grandpa Bing’s biological grandchildren, Damian and Kira are entitled to their share of the inheritance, although their grandfather disinherited them. The reason Peter did this is because both Damian and Kira were born while Steve was not married. For that reason, he only wants the children of Steve’s sister Mary to be the heirs. She was married when they were born. The two now both receive 500 million dollars, which is converted to 421,000 million euros.

“When Stephen took his life, he died assuming his children would be taken care of,” Elizabeth tells The Daily Mail. “What Stephen wanted has now been heartlessly reversed. I know Stephen would have been devastated by this.”

Kira’s mother Lisa has also commented on the judge’s ruling. “It’s awful. Forget the actual legality of it all. This is their grandfather saying, ‘You don’t count and I don’t want you to be part of our lives because your mother wasn’t married to my son.’ She continues: “She [Damian en Kira] are disinherited. They lost. It was very painful for them.”

Shortly after Steve’s death, Elizabeth took to Instagram about the great loss. “Last year we had become close again. We last spoke on our son’s eighteenth birthday. This is devastating news and I thank everyone for their kind messages,” she wrote at the time.
