Dishwasher power with smart plug – General matters

This is a somewhat older model Bosch Exlusiv 3in1.
This dishwasher has an On/Off button, and a rotary knob for heat programs and nothing more, so no timer button either.

Now I thought to buy an Eve Energy, so I ordered this one.
However, I am now wondering whether it can be harmful if the dishwasher is constantly switched on and off by the smart plug.

Does anyone with some knowledge of this have any thoughts on this?

Mind: wow. Experience does :)

The bottom line as far as I’m concerned is: be aware of the maximum wattage of the smart plug and keep in mind that your dishwasher can cause power spikes that the plug may not be able to handle very well…

Small disclaimer here: I don’t have the same dishwasher and plug.

Coincidentally put a Xiaomi Aqara Smart Plug between my Whirlpool dishwasher a few months ago. In terms of features, my dishwasher is quite similar to what you describe. For me, that was a great way to send notifications to my phone and to gain insight into consumption and other such clever things.

That went well for the first few washes – coincidence I think, but pretty soon the plug (not the dishwasher) went out while the program was running. Strange, because the smart plug can handle 2300w and I thought that should be enough for the dishwasher. Plug was reset a few times, but the plug always fell out when running a program. My suspicion (not measured): Powerspikes.

I finally pulled the plug myself…

So I’m back to square one, but at least the dishwasher still works :9
