The kidneys are considered one of the sensitive vital organs, and their integrity is linked to the enjoyment of good health of the organism, and this explains why they are often affected by certain diseases.

Diseases affecting the kidneys
1- Diabetes
Diabetes mellitus poses a serious threat to kidney health, as it increases the risk of kidney failure if it causes damage to the blood vessels that feed them and the nerves that control the bladder.

2- Anorexia nervosa
A psychological disorder that causes a person to completely avoid food or eat little of it, which leads to weight loss and therefore low levels of vitamins, minerals, water and salts in the body.
Kidney failure is a serious complication of anorexia nervosa, so those affected should consult a nutritionist to determine a balanced diet to maintain weight and consult a psychiatrist to help them get rid of fears about food.

3- Hypertension
High blood pressure can lead to kidney failure and the reason is due to the narrowing of the blood vessels that feed the kidneys, which leads to a decrease or cessation of flow of oxygen-laden blood to them.
And with the lack or disruption of the blood supply to the kidneys, it becomes unable to perform its vital functions, such as urination, which leads to the accumulation of toxins in the body, and therefore the patient needs dialysis.

4- High cholesterol
High cholesterol can build up in the arteries that feed the kidneys in the form of fatty plaques, which prevent oxygenated blood from reaching them, and the patient becomes susceptible to impaired kidney function and ultimately kidney failure.
5-Wolf
A disease that causes the immune system to attack organs in the body, including the kidneys, putting them at risk of developing lupus nephritis. Its symptoms include:
– The appearance of blood in the urine.
– The appearance of foam in the urine.
– Hypertension.
Swelling of the extremities.

6- Blood clots
Reduced blood supply to the kidneys may be due to the presence of a blood clot in the renal artery, which prevents blood from flowing to them in the required amount.
