Unfortunately, bad game design is unrepairable. This is the fundamental difference from previous work by DICE.
Things like missing scoreboards, all chats, HUD customizations and the like can be done, but maps need huge plains with nothing. Environmental destruction minimal. The atmosphere is gone. Operators don’t fit in Battlefield – teamplay is gone. These decisions can no longer be reversed and cannot be remade.
128 players is more of an experiment that is not fun. The most fun is the range of 32-64 players and DICE knew it very well in the past. (statement can be traced).
If it wasn’t called Battlefield, but Planetside: Apex, it wouldn’t be such a problem. But the fans wanted BF with the atmosphere of BF1, with features from BFV, with destruction from BC2, from modern times BF3 / 4.
But Portal has a future. But he suffers from being shut down on the sidelines and there is a lot of content yet. 2 + 2 maps from modern times. No unlock system + disabled xp due to farming bots.
BC2 is my favorite part and the remaster is still great, even though there are only 2 maps. That’s the only reason I can recommend it. The same goes for BF3.
DICE is dead and I hope that the next episode will be in charge of RIPPLE (DICE LA).
It was buried by uneaten management. Mainly that they promote a playable operator what he says “it”
