August 19 at 16.00 in the art park “Mobile Museum. Next season”Within the framework of the public program, an international online discussion” Creating Transnational Baltic Region Through Museum “will take place. –

The central questions of the discussion are subordinated to the creation of a new institution – the Museum of Contemporary Art in Riga, within which curators from institutions in the region and beyond will try to answer the questions – what would be a healthy balance between global, local and regional museum? How to create a new institution in Riga, not only to tell the story of Latvian art and visual culture through collection, research and exhibition activities, but also to create a transnational Baltic region, which is both historically and now part of various geopolitical processes beyond the region?

The meeting will be moderated by Inga Lāce, a C-MAP researcher from Central and Eastern Europe, and will be attended by: Charles Esche, Director of the Van Abes Museum in Eindhoven, Head of the Painting Department at the Tallinn Kumu Art Museum, Liisa Kaljula, Chief Curator at the Helsinki Museum of Contemporary Art Kati Kivinen, Curator of the Pompidou Center in Paris Alicja Knock, Head of the Department of Modern Art at the Art Museum in Łódź Daniel Muzichuk, Paulina Pobocha, Associate Curator at the Department of Painting and Sculpture, Museum of Modern Art in New York.
