Discussion and Plans for Cities: Skylines 2 Launch and Immediate Fixes

The creators of the city-planning simulator Cities Skylines 2, which is already available on PC, discussed launch of the game and the developers’ immediate plans.

Colossal Order CEO Marina Halikainen admitted that the release of Cities: Skylines 2 was marred by technical problems that disappointed the community – and that’s a fair reaction. Fortunately, the developers are already aware of the situation and are exploring ways to speed up the patching process to save players from waiting for long periods of time for important fixes.

Halikainen also added that the team continues to look for optimal levels of model development and achieve a balance between visual accuracy and performance. Let us remind you that the first patch that was released already includes some changes in LODs.

In general, players can expect even more fixes that should improve many aspects of Cities: Skylines 2, including the UI, economy, characters and their teeth, which have already been associated with terrible Sim performance. Colossal Order is also investigating a bug that causes citizens to abandon their dogs and, as a result, leave a huge pack of dogs in the middle of the city.
