Regarding these weapons, García indicated that many of them “are for prohibited use” and that the place where they were stored was not equipped for their safekeeping.

“Of the six grenades there were, two were hand grenades that were operational. There were four other grenades that are launched through rifles, which were apparently inactivated. The work was done very quickly, because all these elements were subjected to high temperatures,” explained the commissioner.

Furthermore, the head of the Department of Fight against Organized Crime indicated that “no detonation was made at the scene” and that “the origin of the weapons is being investigated.”

Finally, García assured that “the weapons are going to be seized and will remain at the disposal of the prosecution,” he concluded.

For his part, Deputy Commissioner Martín Ledesma, head of the Explosives Deactivation Division of the City Police Fire Department, explained that after carrying out an “inspection” of the six grenades found, it was found that the two hand grenades that were deactivated They were “of irregular manufacture” and “with their own weight and characteristics, which would justify saying that they were in optimal conditions of use and conservation.”

Regarding the other four, he confirmed that they were “projectable rifle grenades, which were checked and examined at the scene, verifying that they did not have a charge, so we can say that they were inert.”
