Each of our homes contains a precious treasure of small talents and creative energies that can hide behind the concept of childhood misery, and their families do not pay attention to them, so the talents of these buds wither and are lost, while some young children may be fortunate in having a family with insightful vision and a measure of awareness that enables them to Nurturing and discovering these talents and putting them on the right path, so that the small talent turns into infinite energies of innovation and creativity, which may be able to change the future and improve human lives.
We explore the experiences of a group of distinguished children in the field of innovations and robotics who participated in the technical challenge competition organized by the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation in Sharjah, which embraces and develops these talents and prepares them to face future challenges efficiently and with the ability to compete globally.
The innovative Ahed Saeed Al-Laili (13 years old) talked to us about the idea of her invention, which is inspired by the daily suffering of her life and the lives of her colleagues. noon”.
And she continues: “The idea of the project is to invent a robot in the form of a small car that moves with remote control, and carries the school bag that burdens our backs. Which many students suffer from, because of carrying the school bag that burdens them, and the weight that the robot car can carry is 16 kilograms, and the capacity of the car can be increased according to need, and the idea aims to solve a problem that we all suffer from, and make students go to school more comfortably.
And about the beginning of discovering her talent, she says: “My mother discovered my talent and my passion for exploration and innovation, since I was 8 years old, when she noticed my eagerness to disassemble and explore different things, for example, I was quick to dismantle a light bulb if it broke down to find out what was inside it, and then my mother decided to enroll me in a program “Sandooq Al Watan”; Where I learned the basics of programming at the Child Center, and now I joined Sajaya, where I learned the implementation of robots and programming and learned a lot of mental and physical skills such as swimming and various sports, and I became an inventor interested in creativity and possessing the tools of innovation.
“Doctor Robot”
One of the most prominent innovators who won many awards, despite his young age, and who drew attention with his distinguished invention “Doctor Robot”, was the student Ali Hamid Al-Loughani (12 years old), who spoke to us with confidence befitting his talent, saying: “My relationship with inventions began in the period of Covid-19, and in In light of the health crisis and the overcrowding of patients in hospitals, I came up with the idea of inventing a “Doctor Robot”, which is a device that is placed in the home, and can read the vital signs of patients permanently, and is smart enough that we can program it to follow up on the condition of a sick or elderly person inside the house, so it follows him from one place to another. A place and in wakefulness and sleep, and constantly focuses on measuring and reading the vital signs emanating from it, such as temperature, blood pressure, heart beats, the percentage of oxygen in the blood, and others, and if it finds readings that raise concern, it starts to alert those around it, or it can communicate the information directly to the treating doctor, to inform him about the developments of the situation This invention I developed several times, and each time I added additional features, and this is its fifth version.
And about how he discovered his talent, he says: “The features of my talent began at the age of five, when my mother noticed that I liked disassembling and reassembling remote control cars, and at that time I felt that her little child had a special talent, and I owe her credit for discovering my talent early, and directing me to the competent places that contributed In caring for and developing my talent, such as the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation, had it not been for this interest from home and then from the concerned institutions, my way of life would have changed, and I would have wasted my time and energies on PlayStation games, for example, and other things that are not useful, and do not add any development to my personality and my skills However, I am currently keen on diligence and self-development. To raise the head of my parents, and be a source of pride for my country, the Emirates.
Ali adds: “I participated in many competitions in the country and abroad, and won several awards at the individual and collective level, some of which were for the “smart chair” project that helps people with disabilities in the motor disability category, and the doctor’s robot project, and I am currently working on implementing a new project called “smart turtle.” » To save drowning people and discover underwater treasures.
best design
As for the innovator, Muhammad Abdullah Al-Naqbi (12 years old), from the Khorfakkan Youth Center, he says: “I participated in the VEX iq competitions affiliated with children’s centers, and I won the best robot design award in this competition. It contains laboratory tools that can be used in the classroom or anywhere outside the laboratory.” He adds: “My parents noticed my ability to learn quickly since my early childhood, and they attached me to child centers. Where I was directed by the center’s specialists, and I owe my family credit for their interest in developing my skills, and I also thank the trainers at the center for their support.”
Creative little girls
The creative young women from Sajaya, Amal Abdelaziz and Hiyam Fahd, explained to us the idea of their project, a “multi-functional door”. Where the device provides the addition of a password for the doors to be changed from time to time.
Innovator Reem Ahmed and her partner in the project, Hamda Salem (13 years), from Sajaya, Kalba branch, picked up Khayat Al-Hadith, to tell us about the idea of their robot project, and about its idea inspired by their environment, where rain and torrential waters increase, and implemented a robot that is characterized by special sensitivity to monitor the water level. Rain in the vicinity of the house, and warns the residents of the accumulation of water outside the house in case of danger, and it can be developed to be connected to water tanks to suction this water and store it.
best team
Aisha Al Jasmi (14 years old), who won the award for the best team in the competition from “Sajaya” Al-Qarain, also spoke to “The Gulf”, and she said: “My joining the children’s centers at the beginning and then my affiliation with the Sharjah Girls’ Sajaya completely changed my life, helped me develop my skills, and opened new horizons for me. And I am very happy with the best team award, which crowned all our efforts as a team, and reinforced our passion for the field of mobile robots, and this victory means a lot to me, especially since it is the first time that I participate in the vexv5 robotics competitions, and I found it a very useful experience, and it helped me prove my abilities as an Emirati girl with a lot of ambition For a better future for herself and her country. Although there are those who believe that this type of activities and competitions are not suitable for girls and are intended for young men only, we have proven our ability to compete and win as well, thanks to God Almighty, and Sajaya’s support for us, and of course the encouragement and interest of the family is the basic nucleus in building our success.
