It is not unusual, whenever new applications are created, that small secrets are put by the programmers. Any of these easter eggs brings information or some fun to users, just to entertain them.
Microsoft has a long history of putting easter eggs in its apps. The most recent appeared now in one of the oldest operating systems that launched we talk about Windows 95, which has now had a curiosity revealed, after 25 years.
A new easter egg in Windows 95
Despite being discontinued for many years, Windows 95 still seems to be the subject of study for many users. This was one of the systems that completely changed computing and opened users to new interfaces and new applications.
In this way, and continuing some analyzes, a new easter egg was discovered. This time it was hidden in the Windows 95 Internet Mail app and until now it had never been revealed and as such registered nowhere.
Internet Mail app has this little secret
It was the hacker and programmer Albacore that announced its recent discovery to the world, through a simple tweet. From what you showed on that social network, there is a way to access a new window in the Windows 95 Internet Mail app.
This then shows a list of the programmers who participated in the development of this app. This easter egg is similar to many others that were found over the years and that helped to recognize who participated in these apps
Has been in hiding for 25 years
From what is described, just open the Acerta tab and then choose one of the dll files present in that list. When typing the word MORTIMER afterwards, the user finally has access to the list of developers in that new window.
The usefulness of this easter egg is nil as expected. It is just a list of names that appears to the user, but it shows that a lot of code with similar options is still hidden and undiscovered. In this case it took 25 years to be revealed, but probably much more will take even longer to be found.
