This is the third year in a row that the average temperature in April and May is below the climatic norm, moreover, there has been no particularly warm period this spring, reveals Toms Bricis, the editor of Latvian Television Laika.
According to T. Bricis, in previous years there were at least a few days when the temperature reached 25 degrees, this year it was only 20 degrees for one day and it was also only in Zemgale and Riga.
“Already this Thursday, the temperature in at least part of Latvia will reach 20 degrees again,” reveals T. Bricis, but later the air temperature will decrease again.
It is possible that it will continue even in June, but there will be some warm days in the middle, predicts T. Bricis.
The long-standing air circulation in Europe, which has been carrying cold air from Scandinavia and the Arctic in our region since April, is not over in the current forecasts.
