Discover the Wind Festival event at the GrünGürtel Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main

On Sunday, October 13th, it’s that time again: The big wind festival in Frankfurt’s GrünGürtel invites families and nature lovers to the Heiligenstock from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Under the motto “Wind and renewable energies”, environmental learning in Frankfurt has prepared a varied program that offers both fun and educational insights into the world of wind power.

The wind festival offers numerous hands-on activities that will especially delight children. With colorful kites soaring into the sky, wind turbines made from recycled material and experiments in the “Renewables miniLAB”, visitors learn in a playful way how wind power and other renewable energies work. Children and adults can experiment with wind turbines, solar cells and generators and see how electricity is generated for small devices.

Those who prefer to do handicrafts have the opportunity to build gliders out of balsa wood or make colorful parachutes and wind turbines. Creative minds also have the chance to create autumnal wind chimes and mobiles from natural materials such as acorns, cones and rose hips.

An exciting rally takes participants through the area and imparts knowledge about renewable energies and nature in Frankfurt’s Green Belt in a playful way. At the end of the rally, a small Green Belt animal awaits the successful participants as a reward.
