Feel the gold dial of Dom’s clock
One of the newest viewing platforms available to Riga residents and city guests since the spring of 2023 is the Dom church tower. The visit is in the form of a guided tour. Don’t be intimidated by the 217-step climb – the stairs are divided into sections and at the end of each there is a break with a story.
In the tower, you can clearly appreciate the skills of ancient craftsmen and the quality of ancient materials – the walls of the church tower are 700 years old! Rarely has anything so old been preserved in Riga! They survived 1547. 2010 fire in which the Gothic spire of the Dom tower burned down, and the traces of this fire damage can still be seen on the walls of the tower as a black glaze.
