“Have a good time with family”. Pierre-Frédéric Billet, the mayor (LR) of Dreux, defines in one sentence the spirit of Saint-Denis. The 844th of the name, prepared by the House of Commerce and Housing and the City services, is scheduled for October 7 and 8, 2023. It will resemble, “always with points for improvement”, the previous editions.
Rue Esmery-Caron will be open for Saint-Denis 2023
Entertainment, musical strolls, good deals “with sedentary and non-sedentary traders, more and more of whom are participating”: the venerable fair retains its fundamentals. With, like last year with Mongolia, a country (Turkey) which will be in the spotlight.
1/ Good deals and culinary specialties
Sales before sales, it’s time to redo your wardrobe! For two days, traders from Grande-Rue Maurice-Viollette and neighboring streets will set up their stands. Place Mésirard and rue des Embûches, many non-sedentary traders have announced their participation. Bargain hunters will also be delighted with the garage sale for children and adults, Place du Musée.
No need to bring your sandwich! In the Grande-Rue and around the Covered Market, the associations and traders of the Covered Market will offer a world tour of culinary specialties.
2/ A stopover in Türkiye, Place Métézeau
Dreux joins in the centenary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. A rich program: a traditional group, Saturday, at 2:15 p.m. and 4 p.m.; the Whirling Dervishes, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., and an Ottoman fanfare, at 6 p.m. The same artists will also perform on Sunday.
3/ The world of children
Saint-Denis gives a big place to children. And these will be filled throughout the weekend. Pony rides, tree climbing, giant wooden games and face painting will be offered free of charge on the Quai aux Arbres, on the Place des Fusillés and at the entrance to Rue Saint-Martin. As in 2022, an educational farm will be present.

4/ Music takes over the street
Saint-Denis is good for the wallet, for the taste buds… and the ears. Several groups are invited, on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., to spread good humor throughout the city center: a New Orleans jazz quartet, the golden dancers of Bollywood, traditional dances from Mauritius, Madagascar and Reunion. And oriental dances. The Turkish folk group from the parents’ cultural association, one of the best in France, will also perform.
5/ Terre d’Artistes opens all its workshops, at the Montulé hotel
A long-time partner of Saint-Denis, the Terre d’Artistes association offers a very complete program: raku cooking, painters in action, calligraphy, live fresco on four panels, rue Rotrou… Small meals and concert by Valentine Lambert , Saturday, at 6:30 p.m., and Creator Bubble show.
6/ And always the funfair, Place du Champ-de-Foire
Saint-Denis without its funfair would no longer be Saint-Denis. Many rides will still be present on the weekend.
7/ Park and move
The city center will be reserved for pedestrians. The two underground car parks will be open. And then, there will be the little train, free!
